A selection of photos taken late summer in our wildlife garden.
We raised several Painted Lady butterflies in our Insect Lore Butterfly Garden Live Kit and released them into the garden.
Here is a selection of photos of those we released
Potato Leafhopper Eupteryx aurata
Our wildlife pond is now coming on beautifully, we struggled to get the plants established and water quality right but the plants are now taking over, the water is clear and it is teaming with life!
This was quite a neglected part of the garden but is now a lovely tranquil spot
Great Diving Beetle
Our herbaceous borders planted for butterflies and bees
Possibly A delphacid planthopper (Dicranotropis hamata)
Tiny Beetle Malthodes marginatus
Injured Red Squirrel
We worried about this squirrel for some time…
At one stage he was quite poorly, as well as losing his tail he also had quite a lot of swelling and was dragging one of his legs..
..he was managing by resting on his knees!
He would also stay out of harms way…
…by hiding under a bush to eat
A healthier looking squirrel
Young Roe Deer I startled in the garden
This one is ringed
I havn’t identified this creature yet on a neighbours farm
I think perhaps our squirrels planted this sunflower
We keep the bird food in metal tins with lids, but somehow this little vole managed to get in!
