A tiny bee
Colletes species
The flowers it is feeding on are individual Yarrow flowers, which gives you an idea of just how tiny it is!
I grew Cosmos this year from seed for the bees and butterflies, sadly the slugs and snails munched their way through most of them, but some did survive and are very colourful too.
This striking little leafhopper is called Evacanthus-interruptus its the first time I have seen one.

We finally have butterflies in numbers and the buddleia is living up to its name of the Butterfly Bush
Red Admiral
We have lots of different buddleias, but I think this one is my favourite. Its always worth checking it at dusk too, with a torch as it is visited at night too by a variety of moths.

..and looks like a large black bumblebee when flying about
Wall Butterfly
It looks like this one had a narrow escape from a bird!
They are quite pretty when you look at them closely, even with their wings closed.

This was a chipped House Martin bowl so we put it up in the garden, no House Martins, but a Wren raised a family in it!
