RSPB Wood of Cree 11th May 2009

An SOC outside meet at the RSPB's Wood of Cree. A beautiful day with lovely blue sky we met in the car park at noon.

Not many birds to be seen but the waterfalls were flowing well.

A red Admiral butterfly in the woods.

A friendly Chaffinch came to share our lunch at the picnic tables

And the female came along too!

A willow warbler in the willow.

Fresh green leaves along the lane

Crab apple blossom

Bluebells and dry stane dyke

Newly unfurled ferns and bluebells

The main path through the woods

Dry stane dyke

Wild Garlic or Ramsons

A beautiful specimen!

A blue haze

The best bluebells I have ever seen!

Back to the carpark and a walk down to the Otter Pool
Otter Pool but no otters today!
